Title: Break lights
Post by 68-73 on Aug 15th, 2019 at 10:40am
Took my 68 out for a nice long drive last Sat & when I was stopped I noticed I didn't see any reflection of my break lights in the rear view mirror like I usually do (they are LED & very bright) so I stopped & I guess one of my big feet knocked one of the wires off the break switch...guess I'll have to get under there & secure it with the hot glue gun or cut my toes off.

If I had more energy I'd hook up a break switch off the break line...sure would be safer & more reliable ..maybe this winter.

Funny you bring up the old hydraulic brake switch. Ford was big on that back in the day. I replaced a lot of them over the years from going bad. But I can't recall ever replacing a mechanical switch. But I rarely kept a car for long to find out :o...jack
