Hi everyone.
I am the Charlie that several of the board members and moderators have been refering to.  I am the general manager and co-owner of Automatic Transmission Design in Germantown, WI. (ATDautotransdesign.com) I have been in the car repair business for almost 30 years.  I have been active in the transmission business for 25 of those 30 years.

Our company manufactures and distributes automatic and manual transmission assemblies, components and torque converters for use in about any application you can think of.  The company started as a racing related supplier and has branched out into all forms of transmission repair.  We truly enjoy helping car guys get the correct product for their car and giving them a FAIR, not inflated, price for that product. Restoration work is something that we take great pride in and enjoy providing.

There are so many questions that relate to transmission selection, fitment, application and cost that I could write a book.  Not likely to happen here.  I encourage any and all to contact me in any manner you see fit and ask any questions that come to mind.  I will give you an honest answer and explain your options for your particular project.  My email link, phone number and web info is posted and I encourage you to contact me at any time.

Charlie,

Thank you for this post.

Not sure if you know who I am, but i am ADAM from drive train specialists "DTS".

I need to thank you for taking great care of the many many folks I have sent your way.  Its a big deal to those of us who have a hard time giving recommendations, due to the poor treatment of many customers in the auto-world.  Being able to send tranny work your way and knowing they get great work done is very cool.

anyway, THANKS again!
Cool

Thanks, Adam.  I appreciate the kind words.  I always try to take care of the customer and referals are the best form of advertising I know of.  You guys at DTS do a kick butt job as well.  That is the reason I have used DTS for my differential stuff for 20 years.

Welcome Charlie
I purchased a A518 trans, which is a overdrive trans that can fit in 60's chrysler cars.I first had my stock trans rebuilt by a local trans shop with a good reputation. It lasted about 2 weeks before 2nd gear went away. I told them that the engine was gonna have around 450-500hp at the flywheel too. so then I contacted Adam & he steered me to Charlie who told me about the A518. I had to do mods to the car to get it to fit ,but it bolted right up & the performance it outstanding. So any of you that have transmission questions or need work done give him a call. You will get top notch service not found in to many places anymore & he knows these C-3's.

Does seem to be harder all the time to find an honest shop.  Sad  Doing a good job at a fair price, rather than just trying to make a fast buck off of somebody. Angry

Welcome.  Glad to have you here Charlie.  Sure you will get some business from this forum.
