a few years back ( like two...) i bought a "METRO" kit off amazon.
the car is garage kept but daily driven. the kit came with a card that
proudly proclaimed "30 year no questions asked replacement".

well, after 2 years it is crumbling, sticking to the glass, and falling apart.
so i call up METRO and give them the rundown. long story short i
fought with them for 5 weeks and finally told them to stick their
product where the sun dont shine.

they refused to replace any of it, despite me sending pictures
(that THEY asked for ) and copies of the original purchase receipts.

then, another 6 weeks later ( when im in maui instead ) they send me a box
with 2 rear sidewindow rubbers---and  !!!! $78 !!!!  postage due !

i refused the box and sent it back, and then fired off another nasty email.
they said, "oh...well, when you get back from maui, let us know and we will resend it-
but you are responsible for the to-and-from/ return shipping AND another $78
in postage"...

i once again told them to CRAM IT.

the metro kit was $199 off amazon
and the wilcox/CRC kit i just got off eblay was almost $300 BUT i would pay
double to never have to deal with metro again. fair warning--crepe product
and absolute crepe service from metro !

wilcox was easy to deal with AND the CRC product 'feels' like 1000 times better.
im gonna install it this weekiend if plans hold...

"if i cant eat it, ride it, drive it or f*ck it then i dont care"...

I can kinda relate, and I would vinture a guess that there are more individuals out there that have ran into similar situations. I think it's the nature of the beast with our c3s and car restorations in general. That's why I totally enjoy this forum, great people and info from those that have been there and done that. Hang in and as an old friend would say "keep on keeping on"

Yes there are go & bad vendors. We pretty much know who is good ...so if you're not sure just ask. There are excellent vendors out there & Wilcox is one.
