PINS THAT HOLD BRAKE PADS:

Hey all, one thing to note on your baby.
That pin on top of each caliper that holds the pads in place.

At disassemble time I noticed one missing. I even felt bad because I did the last brake job. Saturday before reassembly I got the 3 old pins that were left. OMG! these actually had severe wear on them! I bet the missing one broke and left the scene.

You might want to look at yours if the brakes have not been done recently!
I put in new ones and grease them with the brake grease.

Well! She is finally together!
I made a few runs up and down the street and they work great! She stops better and straighter than ever!

I have not done higher speed quick stops yet but will!

Sadly it is raining now and for the next week so I don't get to play.

For the first time since I have owned her I set the Parking Brake and   . . . . it worked!!
I was on a slight incline and she did not roll! Did not seem to have as much grip as I expected so I will wait a while and eventually adjust again.

I received advice here from Alan/others too and took the advice! Well, most of it! Smiley

Stoptech Cryo treated rotors
Stop Tech performance/aggressive  street pads
Replaced ALL inline rubber hoses with braided stainless
Stainless Parking brake kit including the cables and such
Complete brake fluid flush and replace

For those in question, this was one of the most miserable projects to date on my baby!
I've replaced the engine, tranny, suspension, interior, and MANY small things!

The brakes literally physically beat me up! LOL! ( well, I was not laughing then!)

I am glad I did it! I'd do it again, but I know better now!

Scott
