Looks like the gel coat was removed in those areas & no epoxy primer applied. Could be to many clear coats ??? Painting these fiberglass cars requires more work & a good painter. Take it to a good shop that does fiberglass cars. I would guess it'll have to be repainted if you want it crack free. But they all crack over time especially stress cracks if you drive them.

May be to far from you but Jack, here, had his old C3 painted in Lynnwood by someone and seemed pretty happy with it.

If you are not familiar, the place is just North of Seattle about 20 miles.
This was a few years ago so my info might be outdated.

Indeed, that has been about 14 years ago when I lived in Lynnwood. I had it painted right before the big car show that was held next to the Seahawk stadium... took 2nd in my class that weekend. Four foot trophy. Here is the paint shop off hwy 99

Thanks for the information, that is a tad bit North for me, but I will look into it.  I'm actually very close to Portland, OR.

Ah yes, I know where Battle Ground, WA is. Lynnwood is 3-4 hours north of you.

What should a guy expect to pay for a paint job on a C3, roughly?

Anyone have, or have seen a good "nose mask" or bra for a 73' C3, until I can get it painted...eventually.  One that looks and fits good.... Or is that a bad idea?

It's all about the preparation on a C-3, the painting is the easy part. When I had my 68 & 73 painted they spent many days sanding & prepping the car.  I spent around $5000.00 on each paint job , but the Body shop owner is a good friend & I expect that covered the labor & paint. Both my cars needed lots of sanding...your car might not need as much.  What ever you decide make sure to  get references & go look at the cars.
