Had a friend offering me a great deal on a used FX Nikon. We were boating at the time and he really pressed me hard to just buy it. The price was great ( per him ).I spent my time researching the camera specs and was ready to buy but he was pressing so hard I decided to confirm asking price only to find he was asking more for the body than TOP dollar used online prices.

Some friend huh?

LOL!

Yeah,
Really not a big deal, no harm no foul other than I now know more about me! Doh! I set unnecessary expectations. Had I not made expectations it would have been treated like any other deal! Smiley

How is that for being nice! Wink

I'm afraid I expect a little more of my friends...he would have become an acquaintance from then on. The Golden rule comes to mind.  But in life you make very few friends & lots of acquaintances...relatives included   Roll Eyes

I have an Uncle who is a cheapskate and tries to get top dollar or even a profit when he tries to sell me something. So I don't get bent out of shape, I don't buy anything from him after a couple times like that... I find an excuse NOT to buy whatever it is. Other than that, we get along fine.  Roll Eyes

BTW Scott, in another post:

Sequim is a great place Jack.
We are giving thoughts to moving also but are still years out.
The peninsula also has our attention.

It would be funny if we ended up living close to each other again!

Yes it would Scott... this brings back some fun memories:

Oh wow! Lot of good photos! I remember them all but the train shot! I had forgotten about that one! The Old gas station in the photo is still there and periodically we still see a black vett there but no where near as often as in the past!

New photo assignment this weekend. WA Forest Service hired me again for third time in three months. Up at White Pass Ski Resort.

Dear Jack,

I am around ;>)

I moved over the holidays.. Dec 20; and yesterday (20 days later), I finally got my internet and phone service connected. I am back full strength now. So sorry for the inconvenience..

What we want for White Pass photos:

Skiers on the hill
Racks of skis
Snowshowing and cross country at Nordic Center
Tubing Hill
Both general and up close photos

General area of the ski resort
All ages, children, teen, adult, seniors, family etc
Scenic shots along the byway as you approach the area with, or without, snow
Vehicle with ski rack on top.. if it is in the snow and on the road, we can use it when we talk about road conditions.

Let me know if you want further clarification.. and as always THANKS!

Deal!!!
You have a 4K drone? Tell me more.
My Nikon D500 does 4K videos. I wouldn't dare mount that camera on a drone... Shocked

I've had the Phantom 3 Pro for about 2 years now.
It is very nice in flying capabilities and photographic capabilities.

Took it to the coast last year and flew it from mainland  out over Tatoosh Island! Took some great videos and snap shots.

Also had it up at Chatterbox Falls in BC Canada. Have some fantastic video of Malibu Rapids!

The drone really likes sunny days! lol!

Drone Photography seems to be the new photography wave... maybe I ought to try my hand in it. I'm thinking, like getting above the Bald Eagles nest to see action going on in nest.

I've done just that over Osprey nests.

Boxcar park over the water to Jetty Island there in Everett. Took some videos of wind surfers and flew over Osprey nests.

Some cool shots but you have to know that this drone is somewhat like a 35mm lens.
No reasonable zoom. Also flying over the Osprey nests left me running scared! I've watched videos of birds taking out drones! LOL! SO I flew close but not real close to the nest, It had babies in it so I tried to respect the birds. Basically slang for I did not want to lose my drone to an angry mommy bird! LOL!

Lastly, there are much better drones for professional quality if you decide to go that route. the DJI inspire is one I've seen and really like but can not warrant the cost!
I'm spending all my cash on my vette at this time! LOL!
