Yeah, that one where she caught that huge trout, she was very happy, while rowing back to shore, she kept clapping and giggling like a little girl. That was worth the  whole trip right there. Some campers there said that was the biggest trout they've seen. I haven't seen one that big since I was kid, myself.
...
Oh yeah, I sent those same links to the Forest Service and got this email back:

Ha, did you know we were talking about you…..?  We have about $600 to spend on photography and we are going shopping on your website this weekend.. so this timing is perfect.. What do you want to charge per photo?  Mary Kay

Ah... this is turning out better than I thought. Looks like I'm going to have my pictures in some brochures, websites here in the NW Forest Service. I got this in my email a little while ago:

"I added the 49 photos we have selected into Dropbox. I hope you can open them..if this doesn't work let me know and I will try another way.. WE are overjoyed with the selection.. It will be so good to have new images to choose from and these are so amazing.. the bird photos are like none I have ever seen before.. not sure how you do it.. "

Two of the pics they selected are Iryn "first trout" from last year and the huge one she got this year I posted in the previous post.

Hey Scott, you're probably familiar with long time
Rainier Brewing Co.
started in 1878. I just snagged a lucrative deal with them. This is 2nd of several emails from the manager:

Hi,

Thanks Jack!  Attached is the image that we are interested in using for some point of sale signage in the Tacoma area.  Attached are two examples of how we will use the image.

We place the signs in stores, bars and restaurants to advertise Rainier Beer’s price in that location.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

For Good Cheer, Rainier

BTW, I do believe I got around more than most photographers do this year... see my website below.
Good year as I capitalized on those with the Forest Service (3 times), Tourist shops (twice) and Rainier Beer with big order.

Yeah, I remember it well... I also remember you had people asking you about your Nikon D300 and ignoring me next to you with the Nikon superzoom point and shoot camera. My feelings were hurt! Not really!  Cheesy Grin

Yes but I still have the same camera! I've added a few lens.
A very nice primary lens for portraits and a nice telephoto plus a doubler for when I went to China.

Still love the D300. I gave some serious thought to the D500 over the summer and really do not see a big need to change. Yes it is way nicer and a lot more functionality but I do not use it like you do. I would like the video capability but for now my cash is set aside for improvements on Sharky! I still need a radiator and all the accessories.

I sold my DX D5100 to get a FX D700 w/Nikkor 20mm f/2.8

I wanted a FX for wide angle and scenic shots as they do better than the DX cameras do. However the DX have a longer reach and are better for long shots like wildlife, birds, action etc. So that is what the D500 is for. Didn't feel like spending $3K for a newer FX D810, when the D700 cost me only $650 and only had 1,255 shutter actuations.

Yeah, I flirted with an FX for a while also. Had a friend offering me a great deal on a used FX Nikon. We were boating at the time and he really pressed me hard to just buy it. The price was great ( per him ).I spent my time researching the camera specs and was ready to buy but he was pressing so hard I decided to confirm asking price only to find he was asking more for the body than TOP dollar used online prices.

So much for a good deal! LOL!
That kind of turned me off on a new camera so I'll continue to love my D300 for now!
