Sunday was a good day!
About mid day I jumped into my vette and drove to the gas station!

I filled her to the top with premium with the first fresh gas in a year and a half!
Steering felt good and I did not spin off the belt! She shifted properly now that I have the correct wiring set up and she just simply drove nice! The brakes may need to be bled again as the pedal went to far to the floor for my tastes.

Over all she seemed a bit zippier than before. I did baby her but oh boy did the happy pedal feel good!

Ah, life is good! Still lots of little things to do like hook up the vacuum headlights, gauges, and torque converter wire to brakes bit over all she is in good running order again!

For now my gauges consist of an IPAD hooked up to a dongle on the OBDII connector!

Spring sure does feel like it is here! Beautiful day yesterday, today is looking great and even tomorrow is scheduled to be fantastic!

The snow is a long ago memory now!

All my major tasks seem to be complete and it is a matter of dialing her in the way I like her now.

It almost doesn't seem real because she has been down so long! LOL!

Drove my baby to work today and man does it feel good to be rolling again!
I had to manually push up and then later lower the headlights as I have not hooked up the vacuum yet but otherwise what a great drive to work! I'll drop the top for the ride home later!

I don't think I asked this but did you check the code on your axle? Because if it's a 350 car it won't hold up with that new engine. Also did you upgrade your ujoints & driveshat ujoints?

The previous owner raced the car and already beefed everything up. When I had the drive shaft shortened, I had them put spicer ujoints in and told them the car would be pushing North of 500 hp and to make sure it would support the new power. The shop was very promising saying No problem with what I have.

I did not change the ujoints on the half shafts because they felt good and I know the previous owner had beefed things up. Remember MonkeyWrench? He had to help me identify things a long time ago because of changes and he is the one who told me things had been upgraded. Also PO added 3.73 gears.

I think I am OK but who knows! LOL!

I recall riding with Alan in his Blue Monster when he thought his was "OK", stomped on it and wow, found out the hard way it needed more beefing. Good thing he already had the safety stuff on there.

I think you will be fine unless you go to a 17" tire. I just don't get on it off the line anymore ..not worth the problems it can cause.

Yesterday was a good day!
I took my 69 out for a drive after final adjustments on the pullys.

Once around the big block which is about 4-5 miles.
Diane was ready for a "Come help call" LOL!

She sat at 198 degrees and I checked the belt when I got home. No movement! She held her belt fine!

Second run around the big block, Diane came with me! She could hold the iPad and watch the speed and RPM for me. We briefly got up to 60 MPH and she was at 1750 RPM! YES!

At a light, a feller in a big diesel Dodge truck had pole position with me. He clearly was egging me to run with him. I did not. Light changed, he launched and I pressed the accelerator. Remember my bride was with me. He was instantly a truck length ahead and I continued to ease into the throttle. By 3/4 pedal I was a length ahead of him with a lot left. I wasn't even shifting. Just letting the new tranny do its job! I let out of it and he roared by with a huge grin on his face! Those trucks are LOUD!

My baby was very quick! I have no doubt had I decided to let my vette loose I'd be sporting a black eye from my bride and the truck feller would not be grinning so much! LOL!

So far so good!

I know the feeling seems like everyone wants to challenge the 68 & 73 but hardly ever the 67 Dodge Wink. I have diffently mellowed over the years & rarely take anyone up on the off the line thing. Sometimes if I can take to them I ask what they have under the hood  if they have less than 500 hp I tell them it's not worth the gas & that usually pisses them off.
