You have a very sound mind for that kind of work. I remember the 10 years I built up yellowjacket and many times I had to stop, go do something relaxing for awhile and come back the next day or so and resume what I was doing. One of those times was when I was installing a completely new suspension system from VBP.

Looks like you are doing the conversion in a very logical manner (it's really the only way to do it). Yes Jack I remember when you redid your suspension..I think a spent quite some time on the phone with your friend relaying info.  Still remember telling him to tell you to hit the the ball joints as hard as you can so they'd break apart Grin. It's amazing what someone can accomplish when you put your mind to it.

I had a hose (top) on the 73 this summer & because it's a different setup than stock I couldn't figure out the right hose for the replacement. Finally ordered a 1 1/2" flexible hose 30" & it fits perfect.  Stay away from those metal hose as most don't fit to tight where they connect to the radiator or thermostat.

Just got back from Long Beach California!

Our son and his lady friend purchased a house there and completely remodeled it!
The interior is so much nicer now! They have created nice open space style home that is very comfortable to be in! Their little patch of back yard includes an orange tree, a grapefruit tree, a lime tree, an avocado tree and a banana tree!

One evening our adult beverages were made from the grapefruit tree! He climbed up, dropped 15 grapefruits which I caught, pressed several for the juice, and mixed up some drinks! WOW! We had a great visit!


Otherwise the chevy has received a second power steering pump which I believe will still not work. I have to trial fit tonight.


Diane and I have been sharing a nasty cold so my vette is in wait. Hopefully this weekend I can get more progress!

Yep! Finally getting the urge to work on my car some more!

I dropped the tranny cross member to lower the end of the tranny.
This gave me access to the tranny coolant nipples on the tranny.

I finally last night found the GM part number for the quick connect ends for the lines and immediately ordered them. At the same time I ordered a straight thermostat housing as the factory one would not work, and ordered a connector for the Camaro alternator I installed. I hope this next weekend to finish up the tranny lines to the radiator and then to the tranny cooler and back.


So looking at the car no real change but under the car I am starting to make progress again.

Finances created a slight stall in the build this spring also however that issue is resolved.

Frustrations!
Over and over receiving the wrong parts for the tranny coolant lines.

We had last week off so I spent two days driving from transmission , to hotrod shop, to car parts stores looking for help since I got tired of returning wrong parts.

Finally relief and I found the parts. So the coolant lines are hooked up at the transmission and the cross member back in place. Had to remove the power steering pulley to install the pump and all is looking good! Unfortunately I slightly bent the pulley on removal as I did not use the correct tool. I now know better. so , , , , I will order a new pulley probably today.

I purchased a 2013 Corvette Oil tank off CL a month ago. temporarily set it in place last week only to find it is a bit to tall for the area I want to install it. Dang it!
SO now I am researching an after market oil tank and breather.  I think I found a source at Peterson Fluid Systems. Even found a tank I think might fit! Listed there are two oil breathers that look promising also.

I think I contacted the same place once before but I can not find any emails so my mind is wondering why the web page was familiar. Guess my "sometimers" is settling in !LOL!

Either way, progress was made last week and weekend.

Even found radiator hoses and installed them.
I have done very little wiring.

Saving that for near the end as I actually enjoy those challenges.

Last items off the top of my head:
1) Drive line
2) Exhaust 
3) Fuel lines hooked up
4) Adjust the new rack and pinion steering
5) WIRING! and mount computers

I'm sure there are more details but those are the biggest items now left.

OH what fun!
I do drive Diane's Corvette from time to time so I get my corvette fix!
Sure wish I had a bigger garage though. I get tired of moving Dianes vette and the Harley every time I want to work on mine!

Ha! I wish I had your "problems". My time will come, a 40th Anniversary ruby red will be in my possession in a year or two. Meanwhile I'll pretend my 400 hp Hemi truck is a corvette. Grin

Shocked!

The unmarked power steering pump pulley that NAPA could not identify . . . . . .
A call, about 5 minutes, and I had the part number yesterday early morning!

Internet shows Oreileys has the brand! So I call the one next to my house . .  . .
They had it delivered from their warehouse by noon!

I picked it up and trial fit and all looks good!
Not pressed on yet as I need to hook up the fluid lines first!

Now off to Peterson Fluids and Jegs websites!

Ok,
Time on the Peterson fluids website left my wallet light and hopes up.
I ordered all the LS7 parts. Not the AN stuff yet because i have a good grasp on that.

Well the tank and breather arrived today. The box was huge and my heart sank.
You see I read the dimensions carefully and measured my desired install spot.
Good lord, now what.

I opened the HUGE box and much to my surprise things were double boxed!

Ok, enough crap, I unboxed the tank an breather and they fit perfectly in the hole I had for Them!

Wow! For all the ups and downs, this is a big up for me! The oil tank and breather are the only true unknowns for me left. Now I have them and they seem to fit! Next few days will see me mounting them and getting ready to plumb them! Yeah! One more ( in my mind) hurtle working its way out!

Back to my glass of wine with my bride on the deck! Gas fire pit is nice!
We will fire up the firedisk shortly for a simple stir fry!

Saturday was a good day to be in the garage.

I purchased stainless steel nuts and bolts as well as washers. Picked up some aluminum for backing plates and headed into the garage.


I managed to get the 2 gallon tank mounted behind the passenger side gills and the breather tank just forward of that.

Given the tank holds 2 gallons of oil I added backing plates to support the extra weight.
I'll be squirting the plates  flat black in the near as they shine nicely and are visible in the front right wheel well. Once black and wheels remounted it should disappear.

I also ordered Koul Tools kit to make my AN lines. Last time I did this without the tools and my fingers bled a lot! LOL! This time I hope the tools willmake the line end assembly easier.
