What is the best way to remove oil pan on a 72 small block? Thanks.

Remove the steering linkage & the pan will drop off easily. When I install the new gasket I  use a few wire ties to hold it in place then after some bolts are started & snip the wire ties off.

The steering linkage under the oil pan has to come off.  I just take enough off & move it out of the way so the pan will drop off.
