I am rebuilding my tilt tele steering column (1975). The inner shift tube has broken free from the outer tube. There are slots and small holes on each side as well as a large hole towards the top. I have read that you can use epoxy in the holes to secure the tubes together. My main concern is getting the orientation correct between the two tubes so that the shift interlock lever on the bottom of the tube lines up correctly with the bearing support notch. How do I line up the tubes? Does the slots have anything to do with the orientation of the tubes?
