Don't know if this is were I should be but a two part question doing my 69 over finally got the motor back now cleaning and detailing everything and think the starter and water pump are original. First question is the starter number is 1108352-38 and the NCRS pocket spec says it should be 1108338 ? Even if it is original do I put a new one in now along with the water pump for dependability or do I try and keep it all original. Engine is totally redone and repainted , new clutch even thou it definitely did not need it and the rest of the car is numbers matching. I have had in my garage for 26 years and just getting to it.  Thanks

For the starter I would take it to a local starter alt. rebuilder. I used a guy in Colonia Nj on St. George ave. 1155
Middlesex Armature Service.
The water pump could also be rebuilt. But you will have to scout around and may have to send it out.....jack
