Another two weeks aboard Destiny in the San Juan Islands!
Not being able to cross the boarder left us lonely for some friends we see only once or twice a year.

Some unusual things this year. We have a few favorite and quiet anchorages we visit. They were all packed with large yachts. While Destiny is no peanut at 40', some of these yachts made our bout look little! WOW!

We spent 4 days at dock this year while the rest were at anchor. Docs were required to run at 50% so it was kind of nice!

Our last day left us motoring in dead calm and solid fog for 3-4 hours. Fortunately we have radar and multiple GPS on board so we were good to go but it is still eery on the water in the fog!!

Scott, what a feeling it must be to be at sea in such weather. have you ever thought about a pilots license to see from above and fly?

Actually, yes.
I was 1/2 way through a private pilots license 30 some years ago.
I was young and due to extenuating circumstances I ran out of money to continue lessons

<ff> a couple of years . . . .
My beautiful bride has a strong fear of flying.

Since I have so many hobbies, we agreed I'd not take up the flying again and she'd never complain about my sailing habit! LOL! It was a very good choice on my part! She'll go sailing with me in any conditions where she'd never go flying under even the best conditions.

Proof on her part, early this year we went to St Lucia to sail a 48' catamaran in open ocean where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean! She was a very good trooper1 Grin

I prefer her at my side than not!  Cool
