Over the last few months my 68 with a 454HO would backfire sometimes.  Well 2 days ago I was checking things under the hood making sure everything is tight. I noticed the vac hose going to the distributor was off. Reattached & I must have gained 100hp...it's a monster again. For those that don't know I had this dynoed at 550 ft lbs at the rear wheels & 400 lbs at 1200rpm & its almost a flat line to 5500rpm. The engine was new & completely gone over by my good friend that owned a speed shop.  Since them I've done improvements & the engine is broke in.  Cool Cheesy

That's the main reason I went with the 17" tires, before it was like driving in the snow.  After a few 360's at intersections & tearing a half shaft off I have learned to be very careful. I can see that a day will come when I can't handle this car anymore .  I guess I'll sell it as my son likes the Dodge more & being that he's bigger than me he doesn't fit to well in a 68 C-3 because we all know the 68 was the narrowest corvette made Roll Eyes
